The Oregon 550t has the tools to satisfy novice and hard-core outdoor adventures with its user-friendly interface, tough, 3'' diagonal, sunlight readable color touchscreen display, durable, waterproof design, built-in U.S. topographic data for the continental U.S. with terrain contours, elevation changes, trail, lakes and rivers; worldwide base map with shaded relief. The Oregon 550t's built-in 3-axis tilt compensated electronic compass shows your heading even when you're standing still and the barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint altitude. You can even use the barometric altimeter to stay informed about changing weather conditions. A high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver and HotFix satellite prediction allows the Oregon 550t to locate your position quickly and precisely, while maintaining its GPS location even in heavy cover and deep canyons.
